Everything here is general information. It is not legal, medical, tax, insurance, or financial advice, and reading it does not create any professional relationship. Only the agency that runs a program can tell you whether you qualify.

The screener is an estimate

The screener compares your answers to published eligibility rules. A "likely match" is an estimate, not an approval, and a dollar figure is a typical award, not a promise. Rules change, states differ, and your own paperwork decides the outcome.

Applying is always free

Every program listed here is free to apply for through the agency that runs it. We never charge you, and no one should. If someone asks you to pay to apply for a government benefit, stop and check with the agency directly.

Links to other sites

We link to agency pages and nonprofit partners so you can apply at the source. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your information.

Accuracy and changes

Each page carries the date it was checked. We correct errors as we find them and move that date. We do not guarantee that every figure is current at the moment you read it — always confirm with the agency before relying on a number.

Using our content

Content is available under the Citation License 1.0: cite it with attribution and a link, but do not republish pages wholesale or copy the catalog.
